THE NEW BIRTH
Man Again Becomes Body, Soul, Spirit
Why we need The Savor-The Lord Jesus Christ
God’s desire has always been to have fellowship, a full sharing with man. In the Beginning, He created man complete, in 3 parts for a purpose. Body, Soul (breath life)
and Spirit. God could now walk and talk with man. Adam named the animals with God’s help and God even made a helpmate for him, Eve.
As long as the man Adam and Eve obeyed God, life was wonderful, they were in paradise. God had told them, “The day you eat thereof you would surely die” Then, Adam and Eve sinned, they ate of the tree of good and evil and died. What died that day? They lost the spirit that God gave them. Thy lost their spiritual connection with God. It says they died because the spirit was no longer there. They were now just body and soul, separated from God. From this time forward to the day of Pentecost, when ever God wanted to talk to man, He had to come into physical form for example, the burning bush with Moses the tablets of the Ten Commandments for the children of Israel. The only exceptions were Men of God that God chose to put His spirit upon them, under the condition that they were to be faithful. Today every person born, into the world is just body and soul, separated from God and belongs to the kingdoms of the world, which belong to Satan. It was only by Jesus’ death, on the cross and His resurrection, that man can again be complete, Body, Soul and Spirit. Jesus paid the price for Adam’s sin and redeemed, bought us back from the grips of Satan’s clutches. Now because of what Jesus did we can have Fellowship with God once again. This happens when we confess with our mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe that God hath raised Him from the dead. (Roman 10:9,10)
(Rom 10:9) That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
(Rom 10:10) For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
When a person does this he is born again of God’s spirit and becomes complete Body, Soul and Sprit. Jesus has restored everything that Adam lost! PRAISE GOD!!
Body Soul Spirit
The Fall—New Birth
One of the first things a person studying the Bible, the heart of God is that, God means what he says and says what He means. The usages of the words in the Word of God are vary precise.
Fundamental terms: Natural Man—man not born again can only walk by his 5 senses.
(Isa 43:7) Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.
In reading this verse in Isaiah, I need to ask you a question. Are the words created, formed and made identical? No, they are not. God means what he says and says what he means. Formed means formed, made means made and created means, what? Created. The word created is vary important here, it biblically means “ bringing in to existence that which has never been before.” Only God can create. When man does what he calls “create” he has to start with some thing.
In Sunday School I were taught, “ on the first day God created this, on the second day God created that.” This is not what the Bible says. Create is only three times in first chapter. Gen 1:1 Heavens and earth, Gen 1:21 soul life, Gen 1:27 spirit of man.
(1Th 5:23) And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
God says what He means and means what He says. Body soul and spirit is not the same thing. The misunderstanding of soul and spirit has caused much confusion, especially in the Holy Spirit field. Soul has nothing to do with being saved or eternal life. Soul is nothing more then breath life.
(Gen 2:7) And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
When God put breath life in man he became a living soul, God did not create breath life in man, soul life (breath life) was already created for the animals in Genesis 1:21. The dust of the ground was created in Genesis 1:1. God used that dust to form (the body) man.
(1Pe 3:20) Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
This was talking about Noah and the flood, eight alive people, (souls) not yet Christians.
(Act 27:37) And we were in all in the ship two hundred threescore and sixteen souls.
Not all the 276 people were Christians. There were alive people. The only Christians on the ship were Paul and Luke on their way to Rome.
(Gen 1:30) And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
Every beast has a soul.
(Gen 1:21) And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
(Gen 1:24) And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.
Gen 1:21,24 creature is the same word for soul.
(Gen 1:27) So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
What is the image of God? John 4:24 tells us.
(Joh 4:24) God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Image of God—spirit John 4:24
God formed man (body) from the dust of the ground.
God breathe into man’s nostrils the breath of life, and became a living soul.
God created His image (spirit) in man.
Man was complete could walk and talk with God. Had fellowship.
The Fall
It was wonderful in Paradise; God had fellowship with Adam and Eve There was only one above Adam --- that was God.
Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping animal that creepeth upon the earth.
Adam had dominion over every thing on Earth. God gave him the ruler ship of Earth. When Adam let his senses rule over the walk by the spirit, catastrophe happened.
He was no longer spiritually ruled, he was ruled by his 5 senses.
Gen 2:16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
Gen 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest of it thou shalt surely die.
Only rule God gave Adam—do not eat. As long as Adam and Eve obeyed the Word of God they were blessed of God, they were walking in fellowship with God in the Garden. But, there was somebody else in the Garden that day - Satan.
Satan at one time was Lucifer, one of the ruling archangels. He wanted to be no 1 God.
Isa 14:13 For thou hast said in thy heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
Isa 14:14 I will ascend above the hights of the clouds; I will be like the Most High.
After a war in Heaven, Satan and one third of the angles in his command were kicked out of Heaven, but he does not care because his goal was and continues to be, to this day “to be like the most high.” He will do anything to receive worship that rightfully belongs to the true God.
He meets Eve in the garden; here we have the record of the fall of man.
Gen 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made: and he said to the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
Eve knew exactly what God said. “Did God Really Say That?” Satan first tries to get Eve to doubt the Word of God .
Gen 3:2 And the woman said to the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
Gen 3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
It’s one thing to get a bad thought, but to hold a conversation with Satan, your asking for trouble. Here she added to what God said,(God never said any thing about touching) then changed the Word to a maybe you’ll die. God said, “in the day you eat of it ye shell surely die” If you change the Word of God,
you no longer have the Word.
Gen 3:4 And the serpent said to the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
Gen 3:5 For God doth know, that in the day ye eat of it, then your eyes shall be opened: and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
Now that Satan has talked Eve out of what God said he drops his bombshell, his big lie. “you shell not surely die, you’re going to be just like God” People today are doing the same thing today, playing God.
THE FALL Genesis 3:1-4
Gen 3:1 doubts the Word
Gen 3:2 omits a word “freely”
Gen 3:3 adds a word “touch it”
“Did God Really Say That”
GOD: “YE SHALL SURELY DIE”
Serpent (The Devil): “YE SHALL NOT SURELY DIE
Whenever we fail to believe and stand on the promises of God, we have disaster.
E.W.Bullinger Companion Bible Appx. 19 “The Serpent of Gen. 3”
The history of Gen. 3 is intended to teach us the fact that Satan’s sphere of activities is in the religious sphere, and not in the spheres of crime or immorality. That his battlefield is not in the sins arising form human depravity, but unbelief in the human heart. We are not to look for Satan’s activities in the newspapers or the police courts, but in the Pulpit and the professors’ chairs wherever the Word of God is called in question, there we see the trail of “that old serpent, which is the Devil and Satan.”
“unbelief of the human heart, the Word of God called in question” We change a word, add a word, and delete a word. Then we simply refuse to believe God’s Word at all. We argue about things in the Church that has nothing to do with the Word. Same thing happens today that happened the Garden of Eden.
Gen 3:6 What died that day? Spirit, because it was no longer there.
From the time of the Fall God had to come into some kind of form to talk to man. Burning Brush, 10 Commandments etc. I Cor 1:21, I Cor 2:14 - Natural man body and soul man--no spirit.
Lost Dominion
With the fall of man, there were some changes in paradise. Before sin entered, there was no sickness or disease. Adam had ruler ship, of the earth and every thing therein.
(Gen 1:26) And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
What happened when Adam and eve sinned?
(Gen 3:17) And unto Adam he (God) said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
(Gen 3:18) Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;
(Gen 3:19) In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
The ground was not cursed before; there were no thorns and thistles in paradise. God also says that they will return to the ground where they were taken. There was no sickness or death in paradise. What cased these changes?
Adam transferred his dominion, ruler ship of the earth over to God’s archenemy, Satan.
(Luk 4:5) And the devil, taking him (Jesus) up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
(Luk 4:6) And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
Jesus knew it. He knew Adam delivered it to the Devil. So, today who is the prince, or god of this world? Satan. It was transferred to him from Adam when Adam sinned. Adam had ruler ship in paradise. But he transferred that rule ship to Satan. Satan is now known as the god of this world.
(Joh 14:30) Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.
If Jesus declares that the prince of this world has nothing in him, it cannot be His Father, the true God. It has to be Satan.
(2Co 4:4) In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
Satan has ruler ship of the earth today. When he wants to wipe out an area with a storm and kill people. He does it. Sickness and death comes from Satan, NOT the true God, The Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
When I was about nine years old a well-meaning person thought me, that God killed my mom, to punish me because I did some something wrong. For years I lived thinking God hated me. That all changed when I was shown, for the first time. Hebrews 2:14
(Heb 2:14) Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he (Jesus) also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
Who has the power of death? The Bible says it is Satan. Jesus Christ came to destroy him who has the power of death, the devil. Satan’s goal was and still is to be like the most high God.
(Isa 14:14) I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
Satan has legal rights to every thing and every body on the earth, with the exception of one thing, the born again believer. They belong to God. Satan has no right to touch them, unless the believer allows him to.
(1Jo 4:4) Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
Bible says there are two gods. If someone tells you they believe in God. Ask them. Which One??
Need for a Redeemer
If Adam and Eve stayed in the garden and ate of the Tree of life, they would have been kept in that unredeemable state. The Devil would have won.
Gen 3:15 Prophesy of the coming Redeemer The Lord Jesus Christ. He is the Subject of the Word from Gen to Rev.
The second Adam—Jesus came to restore everything Adam lost.
John 10:10 two different ministries.
I John 3:8 destroy the works
Heb 2:14 destroy him who has the power of death, which is the Devil.

What to DO
With the New Birth
The Walk
Remission and Forgiveness if Sins
Confession two types unto salvation - Rom 10:9,10
To reestablish broken fellowship - I John 1:9
Grace and not works save us. Eph 2:8,9 it is not the confession of sins that gets someone saved. It’s the confession of the savior of sin, Jesus.
C
Remission cleans the slate.
Redemption requires remission of sins.
Remission of sins requires repentance.

Oops, forgot
Sins One!
If a man forgets to confess this one sin, (Say he is 30 years old) he remains unsaved.
Are we saved by confession of sins? No, that would Works (hard work) we are saved by grace
Freedom, pardon, deliverance. Acts 2:38, Heb 9:22, Acts 10:43, Eph 1:7, Col 1:14, Luke 4:18. (to get born again)
To forgive, forsake, lay aside, leave, send away. I John 1:9 (This man is already born again he needs forgiveness.)
Illustration of what Jesus did on the Cross. double for sin Isaiah 40:1,2---Col 2:13.
Boldly Before the Throne of Grace
Hebrews 4:16
(Heb 4:16) Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
A Born Again stand boldly before God Because of his Standing as a son of God because of the work of Christ.
I John 3:1
(1Jo 3:1) Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
Our standing is always that of a son because of the new birth. Jesus Christ is our big brother.
(Rom 8:16) The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
(Rom 8:17) And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
Romans 8:16,17 We are joint-heirs. We share fully with Christ.
O.T. believers were servants. We today, with Christ in us are sons. Would God do any less for a son then a servant??
Once we are saved we have remission of sins (slate wiped clean).
NOW if I sin, I can confess that sin to be cleansed and get restored fellowship.
I John 3:9 cannot commit sin. In the spirit. Body and soul sins like a trooper.
Fellowship is an important part in getting prayers answered.
II Cor 10:4,5 Pulling down of strongholds. The mind the man of body, soul and spirit, (born again believer) has to be renewed.
The Renewed Mind—Walking the Talk
(Sanctification of your self)
When a person gets born again he has the same mind he had before. The mind must be renewed to the Word of God to enable the Christian Believer to walk in power. To renew one’s mind means, “Hold the Word of God in the mind and act accordingly.”
Romans 12:1,2 Transformed—metamorphoo - caterpillar to butterfly
To put on a new figure in your mind
Romans 13:14 “Put ye on” This takes work. Col 3:5-17, Eph 4:22-32, Phil 2:5
Starting your day. “You must decide what kind of day you are going to have. If you don’t set your day the enemy will set it for you.” Joel Osteen
Steps
1) Get Born Again
2) Study the Bible
3) Live the Word; build Christ in your mind. II Cor 10:4,5
4) Practice the presence of God.
Our Rights In Christ
Eph 2:19
The world is not our home; our citizenship is in Heaven and in the family of God. As citizens we have certain rights. As we stand on our rights in Christ. We walk within the power of God Almighty, whenever we fail to accept what Christ did for us and who we are in Christ we have defeat.
Our Rights In Christ
1) Righteousness—our God given right to stand before God in sprite of shortcomings
2) Redemption—to be brought back with the life of Jesus.
3) Justification—Just as if I never sinned
4) Sanctification—to be set apart, a spiritual work done in us.
5) Ministry of Reconciliation—Our legal right (because of the other four) to reconcile people back to God. We have this one whether we want it or not.
The first is Righteousness, our ability to stand in the presence of God with the righteousness of Christ. In sprite of our shortcomings.
Rom 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
Rom 3:21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
Rom 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
Because of what Christ accomplished, we can stand in the righteousness of God! This is by the faith of Jesus Christ, NOT by our own works.
Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
We have Redemption; we were bought and paid for with the blood of Jesus, with Adam’s sin we legally belonged to Satan. In a way we could say Satan kidnapped us. Jesus’ life was the ransom paid for us.
Gal 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
1Co 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
Now if we are redeemed, and bought with the price of Christ’s life we should act like it.
Justification, Just as if I never sinned.
Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Rom 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
Rom 4:25 Who (Jesus) was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.
Here we can get an understanding on how important it is to stand on our rights. The Greek text reads in Romans 4:25 “was raised when we were justified”
Sanctification, is to be set apart from the kingdoms of this world,(which belong to Satan) unto the Kingdom of God.
1Co 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
God made this unto us, because of Jesus. This is why we can sing like the song says, “this world is not our home, we’re just a passing through”
Because of the other four rights in Christ, we have the Ministry of Reconciliation, our legal right to reconcile people back to God. We have this one whether we want it or not.
2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
2Co 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
God has given this to us, we are responsible or what God gives us. We have the right to call people back to God.
2Co 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
2Co 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
2Co 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
We can either be good ambassadors or bad ones. The choice is up to us. In fact standing on our rights in Christ and walking for God, is as much as our choice to walk for God or not to walk. God in Christ has already given us everything! Why not walk in the Power of God.
ONE MAN AWAKE
One man awake can awaken another,
The second can awaken his next door neighbor.
Three awake can rouse the town,
And turn the whole place upside down.
And many awake can raise such a fuss,
That it finally awakens the rest of us.
One man up with dawn in his eyes,
Multiplies.

„« Prayer: Hebrews 13:20-21 (page NIV) 20 May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, 21 equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. „« Intro: Good day everyone and welcome, I’m Pastor Timothy from beautiful Front Royal Virginia. „« Sermon Let me start by giving you a little background about where I come from and what I am trying to do. I am involved in the fascinating world of Emergency Medical Services and have been for about 30 years. 24 of those years with a busy City Fire Department where I still am as a practicing EMT/Paramedic. I received my calling to ministry from God a little more than 1 year ago. And how I received that calling only true believers will understand. The true believers are you our listeners, for I feel you would not be here if you did not believe. In August of 2005 I lost my Mother, she was called home to be with God. But that day, the day my Mother Passed was the beginning of my re-birth into the love of God. That day I was summoned to my Mother’s side by my Father who left to be with God in 1977. His voice came through to me which sent me into my Mother’s room. A few hours later she was gone. This was just one thing that happened, there is more and talk about that later. But this is where it started. I now know that being a Paramedic is not the only purpose God has for me. He wants me, along with other believers to get the word out about his love and what he can do for us. Besides our radio ministry, we are in the process of creating a ministry for the EMS provider. This is something that is needed very much for the people in this profession no matter what your certification level is and no matter if you are career or volunteer. It is needed ! We the EMS provider’s of the world see so much. In 1 year we see more than the average person will ever see in a lifetime. We see people at their worse, and we see death on a daily basis. Throughout our lives images and faces stay with us like ghosts. They pop up when we least expect it. But do we tell anyone or seek help, in most cases no. Why, because we don’t need to or so we think. Many of us go out and try to wash it away with alcohol, but that can only make it worse, never better. As for my Wife and I, we have not had alcohol for over 2 years now. We have no need for it. So for all of you who try to fix these problems with alcohol, please try and find a different way, talk to someone. Now, remember I told you I was called by God. It is true, there is no other way to explain it. Over the past 2 years or so there have been things happen to me that can only be understood if you believe. The only way to explain this is it was the work of God. 1) As I said the day my Mother passed my Father called out to me. I must say after things settled down I realized how fantastic it was to hear his voice. A voice that had not been heard in that house since 1977. 2) My Mother’s cancer worsened so Denise, the women that would soon become my Wife quit her job as an EMT to stay home and take care of my Mother 24/7. I will tell you in a minute why that was a work of God and my Father. 3) I was touched by a song, a song that I had heard several times since I always played the CD. The song was titled “When he reached down his hand to me”. This time it hit me hard and I listened to every word, this song was talking about me. I new had to make some changes spiritually. 4) Now before any of these things happened there was something else. Remember how I said Denise stayed home to tend to my Mother. Well Denise and I met the year before and our first contact or meeting was November 17, that was the day my Father passed in 1977. He new she was the one and along with God the wheels were set in motion. I tell you all of this to get to this point. God has our lives pre-arranged prior to conception. He knows what he needs of us so he creates us to perform these deeds, fulfill our purpose in this world. As you can see it was pre-determined that Denise and I would get together, and I thank God for her everyday. So as you can see all of this is responsible for my second birth, my birth into the life and love of God. That is something nobody should be without. Ephesians 2:8-10 (NIV) 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. As you can see from this passage we were created by God to serve a purpose. For me being a Paramedic is what God intended me to do. He gave me life so I could make a difference in thousands of lives. And now he has given us this ministry to continue our work even further. Let’s take a look at how we work with God in EMS. Who saves the lives? The answer to that is simple, it is God. Yes we get the credit but it is God’s work, we are just an extension of his hands, he guides us to make the right decisions and what steps to take. So for all the EMS provider’s out there. Think about that next time you are with a patient. Think about how you got that knowledge, how you got your skills. You got them from your partner in life, God. Yes we are even called heroes, but the true hero is God. What we have been talking about here just does not apply to EMS, it applies to every line of legitimate work. If God did not give the skills and knowledge, we could not do it. It’s that simple. „« Prayer: God I ask that you please protect and keep our EMS provider’s throughout the world safe, healthy, and out of harms way. Guide them in their work to make the right decisions. If you have to bring any of them home to you God, please shine your light brightly for they are a very special person. Amen „« Closing: I would like to thank you for being a part of this ministry today as we talked about the love of God and what he can do for us. The next time you see an EMS provider, or any one of our many public servants just give them a little thank you. „« Closing prayer: 2 Corinthians 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all . Amen | ||||
